Magic Johnson congratulates Pelinka on ‘job well done’ after making AD trade

Happy days are here again for the Los Angeles Lakers after the news broke that the team had agreed to terms with the New Orleans Pelicans for a trade bringing Anthony Davis to the Lakers. And nobody is happier about the trade for Davis than former Lakers president and playing legend Magic Johnson.

First, Magic congratulated his friend and former boss Jeanie Buss for accomplishing the goal of adding another star to the Lakers.

However, someone probably told Magic it was time to give Pelinka some love after pulling off the deal. Pelinka, whom Magic accused publicly of backstabbing a few weeks ago.

Even though the ‘Where’s Magic?’ bit may have been part of what forced Johnson out of his role with the Lakers, his connection to the franchise will always be eternal. It’s also a significant reason why LeBron James joined the Lakers, seeing as Magic has already accomplished a lot of what LeBron wants to in his post-playing career.

But what matters is here is that after months of embarrassing headline after embarrassing headline, the Lakers finally won the day. And it seems all the good feelings have washed away. At least until they hit their first problem.
