As someone who often finds it hard to switch off at night, I've constantly been looking for a candle that not only smells nice but relaxes me too.
Let's just say I wish I'd known about The London Dispensary sooner, because their aromatherapy CBD 'grounding' candle made me feel instantly relaxed whilst burning it. The brand is said to focus more on the importance of mental wellness throughout your day, unlike many other wellness brands who focus 'solely on physical wellbeing'.
I've had my fair share of pleasant smelling lavender candles, but I really wanted something with more benefits before drifting off to sleep. The London Dispensary CBD candles are blended with sustainable natural essential oils and wax.

According to the product description, when lit the candle fills the air with terpenes to create a relaxing and soothing atmosphere. This particular Grounding CBD candle features sweet orange notes, bergamot, frankincense and Indian ginger giving the candle a really earthy and potent scent.
A CBD candle is said to 'help ground you' during periods of high emotional or physical stress, and I can honestly say it worked an absolute treat before bedtime. This candle isn't actually solely designed for bedtime, in fact, there's a Slumber candle that does that, but I felt like the grounding scent really helped calm me down after a busy day.
The Candle
In terms of aesthetics, the candle was absolutely gorgeous. Although simple in its form, it had a bright bold orange labelling and smelt absolutely amazing as soon as I unboxed it.
Priced at £28 the 120ml the Grounding candle has 100mg of CBD infused into the essential oils with no harmful chemicals. It's also vegan and ethically sourced which is always a bonus.
Although 120ml doesn't sound like a lot for a candle, trust me when I say it goes a really long way. For the past month, I've been burning mine virtually every evening as I settle down for bed and I've still got over half left.
There's no rules or regulations on when to burn this candle. I find it works best for me after a busy day, but it's whatever works for you. For a small candle, it kicks out some serious scent and fills the room almost instantly.
After burning the candle for a few minutes, I could feel myself becoming more relaxed and sleepy before bed and the warm glow of the flame really added to the atmosphere.
I usually only burn mine for an hour or so before bed to make sure it really fills the room and the difference has been unbelievable. As a light sleeper who often wakes up in the middle of the night, I'd go as far to say this candle has improved my sleep. My sleep quality has improved and I feel generally calmer when going about my day. This candle truly is magic in a jar.
The Verdict
I know that £28 might sound like a lot of money for a candle, but money can't buy the benefits it has. My sleep quality has definitely improved and the candle is now a staple part of my bedtime routine.
It smells absolutely amazing and makes my bedroom feel cosy at night, something I'll definitely be thankful for during the colder autumn winter evenings.
I'll be giving this candle a solid 5/5 because of its many benefits and the fact it smells absolutely amazing. Find out more about The London Dispensary here. Browse other products here.
