It's only August and summer is still here but a radio station has already started playing just Christmas hits all day, every day.
Magic 100% Christmas went live this week, so listeners can sing along to Mariah Carey, Wham! and The Pogues - even though there's more than 120 sleeps until the big day.
A few grumpy Grinches will argue the August Bank Holiday is too early to be blasting out Christmas classics, but Magic said it's hoping to lift the spirits of the nation after a survey claimed many people planned to start the festive preparations early this year, reports MirrorOnline.
Ronan Keating, Magic Radio Breakfast presenter, said: "2020 has been a hard year for us all – what better way to lift our spirits than bringing Christmas forward a few months?
"One of the most fulfilling parts of working at Magic Radio is to be able to connect with our listeners and bring a smile to their faces, so I can’t wait to launch Magic 100% Christmas and turn up the Christmas cheer!"
Magic decided to start the celebrations early after listeners expressed fears over a second-wave of coronavirus and were worried about not being able to see family and friends during the festive season.
A survey found 32 per cent of people feel the Christmas spirit when the songs start, with 91 per cent of people saying they turned on the radio in the build up to December 25 to help kickstart the celebrations.
But some people were not too keen when the news was revealed on social media, saying "it's chuffing August" but others were bit more jolly, saying they were "100% here for it".
