Magenta Business Park's first building officially launched

The first building at the Magenta Business Park has officially been opened.

Red Tree Magenta is the latest in a long line of successful new-build office developments delivered by Clyde Gateway.

The development, situated next to the River Clyde and M74 motorway network, cost £9m to build and will bring 170 new jobs to the South Lanarkshire area.

Councillor John Ross, the leader of South Lanarkshire Council, opened the building.

He said: “Clyde Gateway has a tremendous track record in bringing new jobs and opportunities to this particular part of South Lanarkshire.  It made perfect sense for our council to invest over £3m to support the plans to accelerate the construction of Red Tree Magenta and to play our part in delivering what is an eye-catching and hugely impressive building."

Ian Manson, the Chief Executive of Clyde Gateway added:  “Successful partnerships are key to everything we do and it is very satisfying that we are able to use today as a way to thank Councilor Ross and everyone at South Lanarkshire for their continued support.

“Red Tree Magenta has been an unqualified success and those who have made the building their new home are joining what is a growing number of entrepreneurial organisations right across Clyde Gateway.

“In line with the current commercial property market, we had expected this building to reach 20 percent occupancy in the first year but to be fully let in the first six months is a true reflection of the fantastic accommodation, facilities, business support and transport links on offer here.”

Funding for the Red Tree Magenta building was provided by Clyde Gateway, the Scottish Government and South Lanarkshire Council as part of overarching plans to regenerate the area.
