An Italian magazine editor who published a picture of Princess Diana as she lay dying in her car has defended his decision. Umberto Brindani, who edits the Italian Chi magazine, said: "I published the picture for a very simple reason - it has never been seen before." It shows the princess slumped in the back of the car with her head to one side as a paramedic tries to put an oxygen mask over her face. Brindani said: "In my opinion it is not a picture which is offensive to the memory of Princess Diana. I found it rather tender and touching." (Via Sky News)
