As impeachment talk accelerates in Washington, it should be no surprise that some Hollywood celebrities are weighing in as well. The entertainment capital of the world sometimes gets a rap as liberal and anti-Trump, but there’s still love for the president in Tinseltown.
President Donald Trump is facing mounting scrutiny from congressional Democrats, including House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, who Trump said should be “questioned at the highest level for Fraud and Treason.”

But actor Randy Quaid has the president’s back, calling for Schiff’s arrest and for the congressman to resign “for the sake and security of our great nation.”

He also teased a possible congressional challenge to Schiff in his metropolitan Los Angeles district.
“That swamp needs cleaning up big time. I should know. I have serious winning experience emptying the shitters for that district,” he tweeted. (Trump lost Schiff’s district by 50 points in 2016.)
Quaid, best known as Cousin Eddie in “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” was not alone. He was joined by #MAGAWood compatriot, Jon Voight, whose defense of the president — while less bizarre — didn’t lack for hyperbole.
Voight, in a video posted to his Twitter account, said the impeachment inquiry against Trump is a “war against the highest noble man” and an “evil” being perpetrated by the “radical left.”
Of course, this being Hollywood, there’s no shortage of celebrities emboldened by the latest impeachment progressions.
During a Sunday appearance on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” actor Robert DeNiro let his feelings be known in no uncertain NSFW terms, calling Trump a “gangster.” And for criticism he received from Fox News for his outspokenness, the “Goodfellas” actor had two words: “F--- ’em.”
