Conservatives in the United States were shaken by the sudden death of far-right commentator Charlie Kirk, with many wondering who might take Kirk's place as one of their leading pundits. The Atlantic recently named Jack Posobiec as the sector's top influencer, making him likely to take over Kirk's role.
In a report by The Atlantic, Jack Posobiec is the likely candidate who can take over Kirk's role as the leading conservative pundit. According to the report, Posobiec and Kirk share a similar ability to reach both President Donald Trump's base of supporters as well as Republicans in Washington. However, according to other right-wing commentators, the pair are also very different in the way that, according to pundit Steve Bannon, while Kirk was 'trying to be a uniter,' Jack had a more 'adversarial' approach.
Despite the differences in approach, right-wing media outlet National Pulse founder Raheem Kassam admitted that Posobiec remained the 'natural' candidate.
'If there ever was a natural inheritor,' said Kassam. 'Jack has that ability.'
Following Kirk's untimely passing, Posobiec was becoming one of the most prominent figures in Kirk's Turning Point USA political action committee. Posobiec has often shown up at the PAC's events, podcast episodes, and would occasionally become the guest host in Kirk's program. Posobiec has also done interviews with mainstream media outlets to talk about Kirk and even delivered a eulogy for the late pundit during the funeral.
His work with Kirk aside, Posobiec also has a large platform. The right-wing pundit has 3.2 million followers on X (formerly Twitter), and his podcast, 'Human Events Daily,' regularly rakes in over 100,000 views. In 2023, Posobiec was also named as the influencer with the biggest pull within the base, according to a poll by Senafor.
Posobiec also recently attended the antifa roundtable in the White House alongside administration officials. His attendance, according to the report, further solidifies the belief that even if no one can take Kirk's place, Posobiec has the reach and is seemingly the best positioned to become a leading figure in the conservative wing.
MAGA Site Received Money to Expose Kirk Critics Then Disappeared
Kirk's very public death sent shockwaves throughout the Conservative and MAGA base. Supporters of the late commentator would target those who criticised Kirk online. According to The Daily Beast, a MAGA-aligned website urged supporters to fund a site dedicated to exposing Kirk's critics. The website received tens of thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency, but suddenly disappeared.
The site, called Expose Charlie's Murderers, was launched not long after Kirk was assassinated. It promised to include the names and workplaces in what would be 'the largest firing operation in history.' Between 12 September and 14 September, the site was able to raise thousands of dollars before suddenly going dark.
It would then be renamed as the Charlie Kirk Data Foundation before going dark again, according to the report. The group responsible for hosting the site, named themselves as 'Anon Palantir' and posted 41 entries of people who mocked or criticised Kirk.
Donors to the site were outraged, demanding to be refunded. The listed targets, however, revealed that they had received numerous threats and workplace complaints.
