What is happening? Is Marjorie Taylor Greene turning into a Democrat? This is a question that many have been asking for the past couple of weeks as the United States representative continues to side with the Democrats on a few issues while also standing with the Republicans on most.
But worry not, Marjorie Taylor Greene is not changing sides anytime soon. Her recent efforts are just an instance of her trying to play it safe in case things go south. Who would want to lose power once they get a taste of it? Absolutely, not her.
In a recent video that has been going around on social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), Marjorie Taylor Greene can be seen expressing her grievances towards United States President Donald Trump and his administration. In the clip, she highlights issues such as the lack of action on the Epstein files and the deplorable state of the health insurance industry as one of the drawbacks of the current government. She mentions:
“I’ve been in the Capitol, and there’s two things I couldn’t find this week: I couldn’t find anywhere the Epstein files and also couldn’t find the Republican plan to fix the absolutely destroyed health insurance industry that got wiped out in 2015.”
She continues by highlighting the Republican inaction, or rather the Congress’s inaction in these matters, noting that if these are not dealt with, then the government bodies are not actually doing their jobs.
While several people applauded Greene in the comments section of the video, calling her the sole “voice of reason” in the MAGA crowd, others called her out for trying to maintain a middle ground to play safe on both sides. One person wrote:
“MTG realizes that MAGA is sinking in popularity and she wants to stay elected.”
Another person, while being surprised by Greene’s behaviour, spoke similarly, joking about giving the same medicine she was consuming to other “Trump believers” as she was making sense “for two weeks in a row.”
