MAFS UK set to be more explosive than Australian show after 'grooms brawl and contestant axed' in new series

Channel 4 viewers are eagerly waiting for the return of Married At First Sight UK after the Australian version of the popular reality show wound down from airing series 10 to audiences across the country recently.

And whilst many fans are still buzzing from the drama, it seems that the UK's instalment of the dating programme is set to be just (if not more) explosive than its sister show - according to a source, who has spoken out since cameras have stopped rolling.

The upcoming eighth series has been described as “very explosive". “[There’s] wife swapping, massive rows and even a physical altercation between two of the grooms. One of them was even removed from the show," according to a source reported by Birmingham Live.

They added: “Since filming ended, the cast’s WhatsApp group chat has blown up. The two grooms are going head-to-head and are planning a boxing fight between them. The reunion is due to be filmed in July and at this rate, it will be explosive.

“Many of the cast are planning holidays with each other over the next few weeks. They have been told the show is due to go on TV at the back end of August.”

The experts reportedly even stopped filming at one point last series after being blown away by a 'wife swap' (E4)

Relationship expert Mel Schilling, who helps navigate the couples with their marriages on their couch sessions each week, previously teased there would be some big changes to come in the format this year.

The dating coach said: "I've just been in Australia filming series ten of the Aussie one and I've got to say, there's certainly some new twists coming up in the Aussie one and if history is anything to go by, when we do something new in Australia, we tend to follow suit in the UK.

"So I would suggest there are a number of twists coming in the new season, so watch this space."

The relationship expert will be back on the show alongside her fellow experts Charlene Douglas and co-star Paul C Brunson.

Sex and relationship therapist Charlene said previously: "I love being a part of the show as I love helping people. A lot of time, work and effort goes on behind the scenes to ensure we are making strong matches."

Married At First Sight UK's previous seasons is now available to watch on catchup on E4/Channel 4.
