MAFS UK in chaos as 'Whitney cheats on Duka with new contestant Matt' during couples retreat

Married At First Sight UK is set to air bombshell scenes after Whitney Hughes cheats on husband Duka Cavolli, with new contestant Matt Murray.

In a new twist, last week viewers saw two new couples walk down the aisle and join the experiment. Tatted Matt met his match with salon owner Gemma Rose, but they are already on shaky ground as many of the hairstylist's sexual jokes left her hubby uncomfortable.

Whitney and Duka got married in the show's first episode, but their relationship was doomed from the start. Personal assistant Whitney was on the hunt for a 'massive brick house of a man' but described her husband Duka as a 'shed.'

She was met by criticism from viewers after she failed to give Duka a chance, even confessing at the altar that she was tempted to 'run.' When describing her husband, she said: "I wanted a man to tower over me like massive, like a brick house, compared to a house maybe he's like a shed."

The drama has not yet been aired, but the Daily Mail reports that Gemma Rose - who has been making husband, Matt, visibly uncomfortable recently - breaks down in tears when she learns of the betrayal. An insider told MailOnline that the cheating has "shocked" other members of the show, while leaving Gemma "devastated".

The cheating scenes have yet to air but are set to take place when the couples go away on a retreat. Instead of strengthening their own marriages, it appears Matt and Whitney ditch their partners for each other.

A TV insider told MailOnline: "Whitney and Matt truly shocked the other members of the cast by cheating on their partners – not only because of the hurt it caused but the circumstances too.

"The pairs had gone away to a couples retreat and were there to focus on their relationships, but Whitney and Matt had other ideas. Gemma, who thought she had met the love of her life in Matt, was devastated, while Duka had put his all into giving his marriage with Whitney a chance."

Matt has taken to his Instagram story to set the record straight and he denied the cheating claims. He said: "Oh the Daily Mail loves a bloody buzzword, doesn't it. Just to set the record straight there was no cheating, there was no betrayal, me and Gemma had not been together for seven days and we'd been apart more than we'd ever been together."

Matt slammed the paper and their source for leaking the cheating scandal and ruining the twist before viewers saw it on screen. He also revealed that he wanted to leave the experiment early, but was told by bosses he had to stick it out until the next commitment ceremony.

Gemma has been very vocal on her social media about vowing to tell her story regarding her sexual comments, she has not mentioned anything about the cheating affair. Whitney and Duka have also remained silent about the issue on their social media and have not spoken about the cheating rumours.

However, a relationship professional on the show, Paul C Brunson, has said the show had to stop filming while they dealt with a "wild" wife swap. “All I can say is that it was honestly the most wild swap,” teases the 48-year-old. “So much so that it was a challenge for myself, Charlene [Douglas] and Mel [Schilling].

"We debated it for a long time. We had even stopped filming before the scene because we were still debating it out, so the scene was delayed because we were discussing letting them carry on [in the process].”

MAFSUK airs at 9pm on E4 from Monday - Thursday.
