MAFS' Tamara admits she never fancied husband Dan and is now good pals with rival Jess

Tamara Joy's suffered the ultimate betrayal on Married at First Sight when her husband Dan embarked on a scandalous affair with another married contestant; Jessika Powell.

Season Six of the Aussie reality show became a huge hit during lockdown with UK viewers enjoying their nightly fix of drama and deception from the glamorous newlyweds.

While jilted bride Tamara failed to find lasting love in the experiment, she has gone on to form an unlikely friendship with love rival Jessika Power - despite the blonde bombshell stealing her man.

After mending her own broken heart after the infidelity, Tamara says she became a source of support for Jess when she broke up with Dan.

Speaking to Closer about how she managed to heal her ties with Jess, Tamara admitted: "Jess and I have no issues now. We became friends because I became friends with her brother Rhys, so that broke that ice for us.

"Jess made it clear that she regrets her actions on the show and I don't hold the resentment towards her," added the very forgiving star.

Understandably, Tamara and Dan are no longer on speaking terms after he publicly rejected her on national TV.

However, Tamara has insisted she was not as heartbroken as she appeared when the shocking truth was exposed in the commitment ceremony - as she claims she never really fancied husband Dan.

"Looks wise Dan was what I was after, even though I didn't find him attractive. He was my type physically, but he's too Aussie," said Tamara.

"He sounds like a trucker. I didn't fancy him but having him cheat on me on national TV sucked.

"I as embarrassed because I had no idea. Eve when I watched it back, it triggered me. I was just like, 'I can't believe i got so upset,' but it was because of the betrayal rather than my feelings for Dan."

Tamara said she believes she would have faired better if she'd been married to Nic - who the experts paired with 'Cyclone' Cyrell - or Mike - who tied the knot with Heidi.

Following the huge success of the Aussie series, the UK version is set to return this year after undergoing a huge shake-up.

While Tamara and Jess both failed to find love on the explosive show, couples Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli and Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson are still going strong - with the latter welcoming their first child together last year.
