MAFS star Adrian Sanderson claims there have been 'two more couple swaps' since the show

Married at First Sight star Adrian Sanderson has claimed there were two more couple swaps after the show wrapped filming.

Viewers were left stunned when Whitney Hughes and Matt Murray hooked up, despite initially being matched with other people by experts on the show.

Now it seems there may have been swapping after the cameras stopped rolling, after Adrian dropped the bombshell during an Instagram Live Q&A on Monday night.

Adrian took part in the Instagram Live after the penultimate episode, with Sophie Brown, Duka Cav and Chanita Stephenson.

Chanita read out one question which said: "Have there been any more couple swaps since the show?"

She answered quickly by saying no, before there was some laughter in the group and Chanita said: "Adrian, who are you swapping with?"

Adrian, who was coupled up with Thomas Hartley before they split, said: "I think that there has been [couple swaps]... There has been."

A surprised Chanita then said: "Who? You can't just say that."

Adrian replied: "I thought it was common knowledge so I'm now confused and you're confused or are you all pretending you don't know what I know?"

Chanita asked if the swaps involved anyone taking part in the Instagram Live, to which Adrian said: "I'm not giving anything away. I didn't know I was the only one who had the tea!"

He went on: "Maybe it's not true, I didn't get it from the horse's mouth but this horse is in reverse."

After appearing to backtrack, Adrian then asserted: "There was two that did."

Matt and Whitney caused controversy when they got together, and had finished the experiment declaring they were in love, but it was revealed in the reunion episode last night that they have split up.

All 20 contestants gathered for a final dinner party weeks after the experiment ended.

While some put on a united front as they walked in, there was shock – and some tears – as it was confirmed which couples had now gone their separate ways.

During the final episode aired tonight, it was revealed Matt had withdrawn from the rest of the filming.

Before the shock revelation, during a piece to the camera, Matt said: "I don't know what the future holds for me and Whitney.

"I think it would be a shame to have Whitney in my life in any way shape or form."

Whitney added: "I'm intrigued about Matthew and I's futures, it's been a wild journey, it's mad but no regrets," as she burst into tears.

Reflecting on their break up, Whitney said: "I just want you to be whole, I'm going to be here, no matter what."
