Remember last year when Instagram said BYE BITCH to likes and view counts? Welp, for some users on Instagram, like MAFS icon Michael Brunelli and myself, the count is back on as we can now see likes and view counts again.
Now, this might make you pleased, or it’ll make you shudder. For the latter, the PT has figured out how to disable the like count so your mates can’t see them, but you can see theirs (unless they, too, have turned them off).
In case you’re wondering if this is just a blue tick thing, it ain’t! I’m just an average Joe like you and as I said, I can see likes again on my personal account, but on my finsta (called No Context Charmed, if you care), I cannot see likes. So it sounds like this is one of those roll outs that only some users have access to, while others don’t. It seems totally random, aye.
“To turn seeing likes on/off, go to setting > privacy > posts [and slide the button],” Michael Brunelli wrote on Instagram.

“For those in my DMs asking how I got the feature, I just updated my app,” he said, adding that he was made aware of the update by a pop-up notification (I wasn’t though? So weird. What is happening over there?).
After being messaged by several followers saying the function was not available or accessible to all users yet, Michael apologised.
“My bad everyone… even Martha [Kalifatidis] doesn’t have it,” he said, realising that not every has been granted the gift of the feature.
He then joked that he’s probs ticked off FB / Insta CEO Mark Zuckerberg by giving away the secret.
“Realising I’ve given away an Insta secret and gone down on Mark Zuckerberg’s top friends list,” he wrote.

For the select few who have access to the fancy Instagram feature, heed Michael’s advice above. It werked for me!
But likes, stay gone, pls.
