MAFS’ Joel Reveals Major Unseen Moment With Juliette From Explosive Dinner Party

MAFS' Joel and Juliette

Babe, wake up — a new Married At First Sight (MAFS) villain just dropped. Intruder Juliette Fava has officially continued the trend of brides causing the most drama at this season’s Dinner Parties after she unleashed on her partner Joel Moses (and his teddy bear) in Wednesday night’s episode.

Following a disastrous Crash Course Week where she refused to participate in any tasks — let alone live in the same apartment as Joel — the 27-year-old receptionist was caught lying about her relationship amongst the group.

She told her co-stars that Joel had declared he was “the star of the show”, which, as proven by the many flashbacks, wasn’t exactly what he said. In actual fact, he had told her during an argument that she was “not seeing the star in [him]”, which he emphasised was a metaphor.

Unseen moments from the Dinner Party

While the flashbacks made it clear to the viewer that Juliette was misremembering the conversation, many people questioned on social media why Joel was never shown telling the group what he actually said. This was especially frustrating to fans because he was able to recount the exact comment he made in his piece-to-camera interview with the producers at the end of the episode, but not with the other participants at the dinner table.

Joel has now revealed to PEDESTRIAN.TV that there was much more to the story than what was shown on TV. He explained that his head was “scrambled” after fighting with Juliette so much, and he actually thought she was referring to a different (and very spicy) conversation that happened off-camera.

“Before my first Dinner Party, I was in the apartment with Juliette about to leave, and she said to me verbatim, ‘I think you’re going to be the star of the show’. I didn’t agree with her, I was just like, ‘That’s a nice thing to say’,” he recalled.

“And during the confrontation at the Dinner Party, when she was gaslighting me, I was actually saying to the group, ‘I didn’t say that’. I was denying it, but I was also trying to remember where she would get that from. And then I said to the group, ‘Oh no, she said that thing on the way to the first Dinner Party’.”

Joel said it wasn’t until after the Dinner Party when he was filming his piece-to-camera interview that he realised Juliette was referring to the conversation they had before she stormed out of their apartment.

“That’s when it all clicked, but at the Dinner Party, my head was so frazzled I didn’t even remember. All I knew was that I didn’t say it,” he added.

Unseen moments from MAFS: After The Dinner Party

The explosive Dinner Party may have been filmed last year, but Joel and Juliette had a very frosty reunion this week when they both appeared together on Stan’s official aftershow, MAFS: After The Dinner Party.

Fans will have to wait and see how the couple’s relationship unfolds on MAFS; however, Joel admitted to P.TV that he had no strong feelings about seeing her again.

“[I have] absolutely zero emotion towards Juliette; she is just like air to me,” he remarked. “Look, I was there out of a professional duty to film with Stan, and whether Juliette was there or not didn’t bother me at all. I have no feelings towards her — no positive emotion, no negative emotion, I’m totally neutral.”

He went on to say that he believes Juliette’s on-screen apology was “fake” because “everything that comes out of her mouth is insincere and her words are empty and hollow”, and gee, I wonder if they’re still together?
