MAFS’ Jessika Power is the latest ‘celeb’ to go on a rant about hotel quarantine, complaining about the room, the food and practically everything about her 2-week isolation period.
After a short holiday in WA, the social media influencer flew back to her home on the Gold Coast and mid-flight discovered that she needed to go into hotel quarantine. Clearly unhappy with the decision, Power went on a thirty-story long rant to her 357,000 followers.
“To be honest, it’s really not that crash hot,” Power said in an Instagram story.
“Whenever I travel I tell my travel agent ‘I don’t want to feel like I’m in a hotel’, I get really claustrophobic in small rooms. And this room is fucking small. So that’s fun. Just trying to not let my anxiety eat me alive.”
“Fuck, I can’t eat like this. You’re already paying like three grand to be here, on top of that trying to feed yourself properly,” she said.
“And before anyone comes at me like ‘oh, don’t complain it’s quarantine you should’ve known that before you travelled.’ The quarantine rules changed when we were on the plane. I asked if I could go back to Perth they said no.”
Power complained that the conditions were “inhumane” and that she was not aware hotel quarantine meant you couldn’t go outside for “air.”
Of course, Power has been slammed online because of the clear lack of perspective in her posts.
While the harassment is not deserved, it shows how privileged these influencers are, and how their job has made them forget what most everyday Australians experience. Eating less than nutritious meals in a tiny hotel, is a pretty common experience for those on a budget.
