MAFS’ Gia Fleur Has Addressed Celebrity Apprentice Rumours As Ex-Contestants Slam ‘Awful’ Show

One of the world’s most polarising reality TV shows is rumoured to be returning to Australia, and not everyone’s going to be thrilled about it. The Celebrity Apprentice, based on the popular US series presented and co-produced by Donald Trump, is expected to make a comeback on Channel Nine after it was axed in 2022.

The most recent reboot of the series was hosted by British business magnate Lord Alan Sugar, who also hosts The Apprentice UK, and saw celebrities competing in teams to complete tasks and raise money for their chosen charities.

Insiders have told PEDESTRIAN.TV that controversial MAFS 2026 bride Gia Fleur will likely star in the rumoured reboot, following in the footsteps of former MAFS participants Martha Kalifatidis and Beck Zemek, who used the show to shift public perception. Gia’s talent manager Max Markson also appeared in the show’s first season back in 2011, where he competed alongside a truly bizarre collection of Aussie celebs, including Pauline Hanson and Julia Morris.

On the latest episode of P.TV’s podcast Villain Edit, Gia played coy when asked about the rumours, but said she’s definitely keen on returning to reality TV soon.

“We’ll have to wait and see. Maybe I am, maybe I’m not!” she said. “You can hate me, but hey, I know you guys want me back on your TV screens. You’ve got to have someone to hate. You’ve got to have someone to scream over the TV about! It’s going to be me.”

Former contestants call out The Celebrity Apprentice Australia

If the rumours eventuate, hopefully Gia has a more enjoyable experience on The Celebrity Apprentice Australia than some of the show’s former participants.

Pop star Samantha Jade, who competed on the show in 2022, revealed on Villain Edit last month that she “hated” her time in the boardroom because it was “so hard”.

“It was awful. I did not like that at all,” she said. “I was naive, and I was like, ‘I’m doing this for charity, and there are gonna be nice people’. It was just not that.”

Samantha confessed that she was especially surprised by how “produced” the show was, adding that it was completely different to her previous reality TV stint on The X Factor.

“It was such a bad experience. It was just tough, because you’re working really, really hard, and you think, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m gonna get there, I’m gonna get to the end of this, I’ve done the right thing’, and then it just doesn’t happen because of things behind the scenes,” she detailed.

“I would never do that show again. I don’t know what I was thinking.”

Another person who found no enjoyment from the reality show was singer Amy Shark, who appeared as an intruder on the same season as Samantha Jade.

“I hated every second of that show. I hated doing it,” she admitted. “That was literally me being like, look, I’m gonna do it to show people that I’m interested in television — and they paid me really well — but my god, that was difficult.”

The Celebrity Apprentice’s return to TV is yet to be officially announced, but previous seasons would suggest that Gia will be joined in the boardroom by other Channel 9 talent if the series is greenlit. My guess would be a controversial contestant from The Block, like drama-magnets Kristy Beames, Kylie Baker or Alicia Aplin, and someone from Love Island or Travel Guides.

After all, if you’re going to resurrect a controversial reality TV format, you might as well fill it with people who know exactly how the game works.
