Married At First Sight’s Franky Spencer has offered fans insight into the challenges he's faced since appearing on the show.
Taking to Instagram Stories the former military man posted: “It was one of my biggest challenges ever.
“I would like to say a massive thank you to Maz for sharing this experience with me.”
Viewers of the reality show have watched as Franky and partner Marilyse Corrigan renewed their vows - but Franky has faced considerable backlash on social media.
The star claims the show has been edited to show him in a “negative’” and even controlling light.
But some scenes sparked concern from charity Women's Aid as they drew attention to signs of 'controlling and coercive behaviour' and urged for better intervention from the show's producers.
However, Franky apologised straight after the exchange and has since said that the editing didn't show the 'real' him.
Franky posted a series of photos on his Instagram page also Sunday, appearing solemn during a recent trip to Plymouth and hoping the break had given him chance to reflect on all that's gone on.
But Marilyse has defended her man and told OK! Online in defence of Franky, siding with his claims that the show edited him unfavourably.
"He wasn't as bad as what he seemed, not at all,” she said.
"But obviously that how he's been made to look and it's sad really because he's a nice person.
"He's got a heart of gold.”
And whatever the future holds for the pair, they shared beaming smiles as they posed for an Instagram pic ahead of tonight's reunion show.
He added: "Doing the things we wanted to do made us even stronger. In addition to this getting to meet all her family was really nice and being accepted by her sons was the best feeling I have had in a long time.
"It was great to go back to the reunion to see the gang again and have the opportunity to tell the experts how well we had been getting on."
And viewers can find out if they decide to give it a go at MAFS reunion show which airs tonight at 9pm on E4.
