Married At First Sight’s (MAFS) David Momoh has revealed the real reason why he was upset with Alissa Fay‘s approach to the Final Test.
If you’ve been following MAFS 2026, you would say that David and Alissa were one of the strongest couples up until Homestays Week. And since then, their relationship has taken a massive nosedive.
But things between the pair reaallllyyy hit rock bottom during the Final Test. To give you a quick recap, the Final Test allows our remaining participants to meet their alternative matches. While David dipped on the idea of entertaining another woman, Alissa decided to partake in the task and meet her match.

Ahead of the group date, Alissa read out a card from the Experts, explaining that the Final Test was to see if “the grass was greener on the other side”, which she joked with the other wives, and during the date, Alissa vented to her match about David.
She even admitted that she felt like she was only “70 per cent” certain of her marriage to David.

In the following episode, both David and Alissa got to watch how they approached the group date, and David was absolutely fuming with Alissa’s behaviour. Especially the fact that she joked about whether “the grass was greener” when it came to her potential match, and her joking to him about “dropping his pants” to see his potential bum tattoo.
“So she’s hurt me. She knows it, but she won’t see past it because she believes that me sitting on the couch in front of the Experts, the safest place to talk about issues, is just blindsiding her,” David said in a confessional.
After an explosive exchange, which saw David walk from their apartment, Alissa yelled that she was done with their marriage, hinting at the end of their relationship altogether.
Why did David Momoh really get upset with Alissa Fay after the Final Test?
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV, David expressed that he wasn’t angry at Alissa flirting, but more so the fact that she lied that it was “just networking” and that she’d lied to him about what she did on the date.
“My reaction wasn’t because Alissa got to flirt with a guy. All the girls were comfortable talking with the guys. That wasn’t my issue,” David began.
“My issue [was when] I talked with her after the day, and I said,’How did yours go?’, she said, ‘Oh, it was just networking’. She used the word networking. And I said, ‘The task said the grass was green.’ And she’s like, ‘No, I didn’t say that’. She denied it. Played it off.”

David added that he felt “lied” too and doubled down that he had no problem with her flirtatious conversations with her alternative groom.
“I did what I knew was right for me in real life; I wouldn’t flirt,” David explained.
“If she wanted to do that, cool or whatever. But to lie and say you were networking and you’re all friends, only to find out, on the video, you’re fully flirting. Nah, I can’t stand for that.”
The 2026 groom added that he would’ve been “cool” if she were honest about what she did, but the “disrespect” of lying is what got to him.

“If you’re gonna, like, lie to my face, I’m just gonna read your behaviour this whole time and put two and two together,” David told P.TV.
Honestly, as someone who’s been rooting for the pair since the start — especially since Alissa was brutally bullied by the other brides — it breaks my heart to see these two go through a rough patch.
We still don’t know if they’re fully broken up, but we will be tuning in next Monday for the Final Dinner Party and the Final Vows to see what happens between them!
