Maeda, Ideguchi and Hatate make instant Celtic training impact as 'excitement' factor talked up

Pleased Ange Postecoglou has praised new signings Daizen Maeda, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi ahead of their looming Celtic debuts.

The trio were long-term targets for the Parkhead boss who was keen to strengthen his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Now all three are in the mix to make their debut on Monday night when they host a revamped Hibs side managed by Celtic favourite Shaun Maloney.

And Postecoglou shared kind words for the trio ahead of a pivotal run of fixtures for his side.

He told the club's website: "Obviously we got the new recruits in nice and early, which was the plan, and thankfully it all came together and they got here around the New Year.

“So they were here for the first training session since the resumption which is good because it gives them a chance to settle both on and off the park.

“They’re all good and beyond that, the rest of the squad is in decent condition. Obviously we’ve got guys in different rehab cycles, but for the most part we are getting a few back which is good.

“It’s always good when you get new players in.

‘They are all different players and they all bring different things to the table, they are all pretty excited about being here.’

“And the lads who were here as well, when you bring on quality players, they always get excited as well to see what they can bring, and, like I said, they’ve fitted in pretty well so far.”
