Law alone cannot wipe out crimes

It is shocking that four school students were involved in the Virudhunagar sexual assault case. Low social status accorded to women in our culture makes them easy targets for sexual exploitation even as social media comes in handy as a tool for blackmail. Fear of being stigmatised prevents women from reporting against the molesters. While parents caution girls about how they should dress and behave, they fail to teach boys the importance of treating  girls with respect. As law alone cannot wipe out such crimes, parents should bring up their children with a high sense of morality.

Repair road

The Narayanapuram-Iyer Bungalow stretch of New Natham Road remains in a bad condition with potholes for the past few years.  People find it difficult to use this stretch as itis backbreaking. The bad condition of the road also leads to accidents. I request the authorities to repair the road soon.
