
Recruitment drive
ICICI Bank and NIIT conducted a recruitment drive at E.M.G. Yadava Women’s College on March 19. Secretary and correspondent E.M.G.S. Indirani, president E.M.G.S. Pothi Raj, Governing Council Members E.M.G.S. Pothi Gopalakrishnan and E.M.G.S. Arun Pothiraj, Principal V. Pushpalatha, Vice Principal S. Sivakama Sundari, Director of self-financing courses R. Dhivya and Administrative Officer V. Sundararajan were present. More than 120 students from many disciplines were shortlisted and eligible candidates selected for various positions.
Awareness campaign
Oikos Club and PG and Research Department of Zoology of Lady Doak College organised ‘Snake and human coexistence awareness campaign’ on March 30 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. P.R. Vishwanath, Founder and Director of Urvanam Nature and Wildlife Conservation Team, delivered a lecture to a gathering of 450 students and 23 teachers. Mr. Vishwanath stressed the importance of snake and human coexistence. He also outlined safety precautions to be followed to avoid snake bite and adopt suitable first aid measures.
Encouraging reading habit Following a letter written by Sheikh Nabi, the Headmaster of Al-Ameen Higher Secondary School, the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin sent 200 books to the school library. Besides, to improve the reading habit, 100 students of Class V to Plus Two, with interest in reading, have been enrolled as members at the branch library at K. Pudur. The school also plans to improve its library in a big way to inculcate reading habit among the students.
