MADURAI/TRICHY: Madurai district added two new cases on Friday after recording zero cases over the last few days. The district had one recovery and the number of active cases climbed to six, which is the highest among the 10 southern districts of Tamil Nadu.
A total of seven new cases were added in the region on Friday, the highest in recent days.
Meanwhile, Trichy continued to maintain nil fresh case on Friday. The number of active cases in the district also remained zero. Central region comprising nine districts including Trichy posted only one fresh case on Friday.
Tiruvarur recorded the single case. This was a drop from four cases on Thursday. There was no change in the number of active cases with the number remaining at 11.
