Madonna has announced a string of intimate shows as part of her upcoming tour — including some concerts in a London theatre.
The Queen of Pop will play a run of gigs across North America and Europe in 2019 and 2020, appearing in venues that are markedly smaller than the stadiums she’s used to frequenting.
She has confirmed residencies at three venues so far — at the Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City, the Chicago Theatre and the Wiltern in Los Angeles — with further US dates set to be announced in Las Vegas, Boston, Philadelphia and Miami.
After these shows, she will travel across to Europe, playing in Lisbon, Paris and London. Her appearances in the capital will come at the Palladium in Soho — it is yet to be confirmed just how many nights Madonna will play there.
The tour will come in support of her upcoming 14th studio album, Madame X, set to arrive on June 14.
A number of singles from the album have already dropped, Medellin and I Rise. Three further songs will be revealed in the next few weeks. Crave, featuring Swae Lee, will arrive on May 10, with Future, featuring Quavo, landing on May 17. Dark Ballet, meanwhile, will be released on June 7.
How to get Madonna tickets
Tickets for all of the shows will be sold through a ballot. Fans will be able to select their city, date and price point preferences in advance.
The ballot for Madonna’s shows in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles is open now, and will close at 11.59pm EDT on Friday May 10 (4.49am BST on Saturday May 11). Fans will be informed a week later whether they have been successful.
