Madonna surprises locals as she's spotted at art show in Margate

Madonna surprised Margate locals when she rocked up to art shows.

The Queen of Pop, 67, “stunned” onlookers in Kent as she joined the public this weekend during the grassroots Off Season event, which takes place in studios and warehouses across the town.

According to The Sun, Madonna blended in perfectly with the crowds, and even stopped to watch some of The Crunchie Bar, a film about reality TV in the 2000s.

“Locals were stunned to see Madonna, but no one bothered her,” a source said.

“She didn’t request any special treatment and mostly flew under the radar.

“She was there purely for the art and was spotted at both galleries and live art shows.”

The paper adds Madge has been introduced to the town by her friend, artist Tracey Emin.

It’s not the first time Madonna has recently admired art in the town, as in October last year, she visited The Carl Freedman Gallery, as well as Emin’s TKE Studios.

“A memorable visit by @Madonna to @CarlFreedmanGallery this weekend and studio visit with artist @StudioLenca at TKEStudios,” the gallery wrote on Instagram, sharing a snap of Madonna inbetween Carl Freedman gallery director, Robert Diament, and artist Jose Campos.

In November, Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie reunited for the first time in years as they supported their son Rocco at an art exhibition in Soho.

Madonna has six children, including singer daughter Lourdes, 29, Rocco, with Guy and the adopted David, 20, Mercy, 18 and Stella and Estere, 13.

For the past few years, Rocco has been carving out a career as a painter.

He started out as an artist under the pseudonym Rhed, using it to attain fame without the recognition of his famous parents.

He has since dropped the alias for some exhibitions.

Rocco recently showed fans behind-the-scenes at his Chelsea art studio - and revealed he had a photo of his mum, Madonna, posing in a vintage suit, on the walls.

He joked of the shot: “Had to put mum in here. Otherwise, you know, she wouldn't have been very happy.”

When the video was shared on his Instagram page, Madonna was quick to hit back at his claim in the comments.

The Like A Virgin singer wrote: “Excuse me, ‘You had to put mum in here or she wouldn’t be happy’?!!! Take that back!!!!!”
