Madonna says she had coronavirus after falling ill at the end of her tour

Madonna has revealed she battled coronavirus at the end of her tour.

The Like A Virgin singer, 61, recently revealed that she'd tested positive for coronavirus antibodies, which means she came in contact with the deadly bug.

And she's now explained that she fell ill when her Madame X tour reached Paris in March but she's now recovered.

Taking to Instagram, Madonna shared the news that she is donating $1.1million (£891,308) towards finding a cure for coronavirus.

Sharing a screenshot of an article about her donation, she wrote: "I'm Grateful that I can be a part of supporting Research to Find the cure for Covid -19!!"

Madonna added: "I am not currently sick.

"When you test positive for anti-bodies it means you HAD the virus, which I clearly did as I was sick at the end of my tour in Paris over 7 weeks ago, along with many other artists in my show but at the time.

"We all thought we had a very bad flu.

"Thank God we are all healthy and well now.

"Hope that clears things up for the band wagon jumpers!! Knowledge is Power!"

Madonna took to Instagram last week to reveal she'd taken the antibodies test.

"Took a test the other day, and I found out that I have the antibodies," she said.

“So tomorrow, I’m just going to go for a long drive in the car… and I’m going to breathe in the COVID-19 air. Yep. I hope the sun is shining.”

It comes after fans questioned why Madonna attended a birthday party in person after testing positive for antibodies.

She was seen hugging her friend at the packed party.
