Madonna's friend gives first update on singer's health since terrifying hospital dash

Comedian Rosie O'Donnell has shared an update on her close pal Madonna.

Madonna was hospitalised on Saturday after she was found unconscious in New York. Her manager revealed that she was suffering from a serious bacterial infection.

Following her hospital dash to the ICU, the 64-year-old's Celebration tour - which was due to start on July 15th - has been postponed.

As sources confirm Madonna's family were "preparing for the worst" and with fans worried for the Vogue singer's health, her close friend Rosie shared an update.

"She's feeling good #madonna #love," she wrote underneath a snap of the pair performing a cobra yoga pose on her former TV show.

Fans took to the comments to thank Rosie for issuing the positive news, with one writing:" Great to hear that Rosie! Thanks for the update! God save the Queen."

A second put: "Thanks so much Rosie, I was very worried about M. I love her so much. & this update made my night. I'm glad she’s gonna be okay.

"She’s a fighter but that makes her stronger. You’re such a amazing friend to Madonna and you’re such a amazing person in general. Thank you so much Rosie," they continued.

"Thank you Rosie!!! At least someone keeps us updated!" a third typed.

In an interview with Daily Mail, a family relative of the singer has admitted that the "reality of the situation" became very real.

The relative said: "For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst.

"That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her and that has been the reality of the situation."

Madonna was joined at her bedside by eldest child Lourdes, 26, throughout her stay in the intensive care unit. It is not known whether Rocco, 22; David, 17; Mercy, 17; and 10-year-old twins Stella and Estere visited their mother.

A source close to the family told Daily Mail that the hospitalisation has brought them closer together and also served up as a wake-up call for the pop superstar.
