Madonna responds to article about no parking signs with 'Yes Bishes, I am Madonna'

Madonna has responded to an article about no parking signs outside of her home with characteristic forthrightness and a quick reminder of exactly who she is.

The Queen of Pop was responding to a report from DailyMail.com suggesting Madonna had angered her neighbours by erecting fake ‘no parking’ signs to deter motorists from leaving their cars outside of her New York home.

The article claims Madonna had also had ‘no parking’ imprinted onto her driveway and a yellow line across the ground. It said officials from the Department of Transport had issued a letter of defacement calling on her to respond within 30 days or potentially face a fine, and quoted disgruntled neighbours suggesting it made her seem “entitled”.

Madonna’s reply? “Yes Bishes, I am Madonna - and that is my driveway."

In a post on her Instagram, she added: “If people park in front of it I can't drive in my driveway! So sorry the city doesn't like the color yellow! We will paint a nice dull grey to keep our neighbours happy! Sorry.”

She also promised: “I'm saying three extra Hail Mary's this Easter for this transgression!”

Madonna recently wrapped up her seven month Rebel Heart tour in Sydney, days after being criticised for pulling down a fan's top and exposing her breast to the audience. But while the world reacted with outrage, the girl was unfazed by the incident and sat in the front row for her final performance.

The Independent has contacted Madonna for comment.
