Madonna fans react as she promotes upcoming single with bizarre video of her face

Madonna fans have had mixed reactions as she promoted her upcoming single with a strange close-up video of herself.

The 63-year-old pop icon is celebrating more than four decades in the music industry and last month became the first and only artist to top the Dance Club Songs - Billboard charts on 50 occasions.

To celebrate the achievement, she is releasing two collections: one 50-track compilation of her favourite remixes of the chart-topping hits and another 16-track version.

The latest single sees a remix on 1992 hit Deeper and Deeper, which is out now.

She posted an eight-second video across her social media platforms, including Instagram, Twitter and TikTok on Tuesday evening (May 31).

She then zoomed in slowly to the lens of her sunglasses (Instagram)

During the video, Madonna was wearing a black Balenciaga jacket, a pastel pink pair of sunglasses, her trademark hoop earrings and a number of necklaces - the same attire she wore while watching the WBA World Lightweight Championship at Brookyln's Barclays Centre for Gervonta Davis vs Rolando Romero last Saturday with son David Banda.

As the sample of the remix is played in the background, she appears to be taking a selfie before slowly zooming in on her face before edging closer to the lens of her sunglasses.

The caption alongside the video read: "I always want to go Deeper And Deeper……………." followed by five purple love heart emojis.

Majority of her fans have reacted positively to the posts, with Brazilian artist Johnny Hooker saying: "This remix is so amazing," followed by four fire emojis.

On Instagram, one person commented: "Deeper and deeper into botox," accompanied by a laughing face emoji.

Another wrote: "About as much intellect as Lady Garbage. With stans like you, no wonder her career is in the dumpster."

However on TikTok, comments were less gracious with concerns about her erratic behaviour.

One user said: "Used to be a fan, not so much anymore", while a second person added: "I'm worried about her well-being."

Meanwhile, her recent racy snaps caused her to be banned from going live on Instagram after continually breaking the app's rules with her nude posts, last week.

She shared a video reacting to the decision as she declared: 'I've never worn so many clothes in my life."

She captioned the clip: ''Not Us!!!! violation of community guidelines……….''

Madonna was left bemused as to why her posts had been removed but she admitted it could be a delay in previous NFT videos.

The mother-of-six has teamed up with digital artist, graphic designer, and animator Beeple to make the three NFT videos - also known as non-fungible tokens - which are not for the faint hearted.

Among the most graphic aspects of the clips are close-up shots of her privates, which were created using scans of the singer.

There is no sign of the videos on her Instagram but she is yet to clear up whether it was those videos which were removed by herself or the social media platform.
