Madonna apologises as she's forced to cancel more shows on doctor’s orders

Madonna has been forced to cancel more shows on her Madame X tour on doctor’s orders.

The pop icon, 61, broke the news to her fans today, apologising as she abandoned more shows.

She told fans doctors have told her she must cancel more gigs and claimed that it's a “miracle” she’s been able to get this far on the tour.

Madonna also revealed that she has to do six hours of rehab every day due to her injury while travelling the USA and Lisbon on her tour so far.

Wednesday kicked off what should have been a 14-night run at London's Palladium for the Like A Virgin songstress, having cancelled 10 previous gigs on the Madame X tour due to illness.

But she has now cancelled two shows at London's Palladium due to illness on February 4th and February 11th.

Alongside a snap of herself with her head in her hand, Madonna wrote to her fans: “A note to all my my fans: As you all know I have multiple injuries and have had to cancel shows to give myself time to recover.

“So as not to surprise you I want to let you know ahead of time that I will be cancelling 2 shows - on Feb 4 and Feb 11th at the Palladium in London.

“Because doing 3 shows in a row is too much on my body and in fact my doctors insist I take a day off after every show but I believe can manage if I do 2 shows then I rest!”

Madonna has managed to continue with parts of her tour by changing her footwear, modifying her performance and having intensive rehabilitation.

“It's a miracle I have gotten this far but a-lot has to do with the fact that I do 6 hours of re-hab every day 3 hours before show and 3 after with multiple therapies.

“I have also switched to flat shoes and modified difficult parts of the show. This has helped enormously but I still need to be careful and of course rest is the best medicine.”

“I never want to cancel any show and I'm determined that I will make it to the end if I pace myself. God Willing.

“Refunds will be automatically issued to the credit card on which tickets were ordered.

“I appreciate your understanding and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you!! Madame.”

last night.

She sat in the back of a black car and closed her eyes as she drove home after the concert.

She managed to perform the show last night after cancelling the first gig of her UK tour, one of the ten she's had to pull out of due to injury.

On Thursday she turned up 20 minutes late and left out four songs from the setlist so she could finish before the venue's strict 11pm curfew.

And the strain of her recent health woes was clear to see as Madonna left the Palladium.
