Madhya Pradesh: Woman faces FIR over video in Ujjain's Mahakal temple

UJJAIN: Ujjain police on Monday registered a case of obscenity against a woman who shot a video at the Mahakal temple premises with Bollywood background score.

The woman, whose name was not mentioned in the FIR, has been accused of ‘indulging in obscene acts’ and violating collector’s orders.

The video was apparently shot at Omkareshwar Mahadev temple, which is on the first floor of the Mahakal temple premises. The woman, clad in a saree, is seen moving around pillars of the temple while a Hindi film song plays in the background.

Mahakal police station incharge Munendra Gautam told TOI that two videos – of seven seconds and 14 seconds – were uploaded on a social media site. “We have written to the website to share details of the woman. She has been booked under IPC sections188 and 292,” he said. G

autam said police had received a complaint against the videos from Ujjain resident Rajesh alias Raja Parmar, who lives in a locality near Mahakal temple.

The woman has since apologised and removed the videos from the social media site.
