Madhya Pradesh will have to wait for widespread showers, says meteorological department

BHOPAL: Bhopalis may have to wait for rain as there is absence of a strong system across the city.

Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said there is no system impacting the state and possibility of showers would be due to moisture incursion and localized heating in the day. The state has to wait for a few more days to get the widespread showers, officials added. Day temperature in Bhopal on Friday was recorded at 34.0 degrees Celsius — a degree more than normal mark, while the night temperature in the city was 25.6 degrees Celsius — a degree more than normal mark. Wind direction in the city was south westerly and average wind speed was 20 kmph.

The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Mandala 8 mm and Gwalior recorded trace of rain.

In the forecast for Bhopal on Saturday the meteorological officials said, there would be partly cloudy sky with possibility of thunder and rain in parts of the city. Day and night temperature in the city would be respectively at 35 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius while average wind speed will be 18 kmph.

In the forecast for the state the meteorological officials issued warning of thunder and lightning for places including Rewa, Shahdol, Jabalpur and Sagar divisions. A possibility of rain and thunder was underlined for Rewa, Bhopal, Gwalior and Shahdol divisions and for Panna, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Burhanpur, Indore, Ujjain and Bhind districts. TNN
