Madhya Pradesh: Spurned, married man hacks minor girl to death in Balaghat

BALAGHAT: A 16-year-old girl was hacked to death in Balaghat on Monday evening by a married man, who was furious with her for rejecting his advances.

The victim, a class 11 student, was cycling home with friends after school when Kiran Marskole, who was lying in wait, attacked her with an axe, said subdivisional police officer Durgesh Armo.

She died on the spot. The accused fled the scene but was tracked down via his mobile phone and arrested from Godri village, he said. Marskole, 21, had got married last year, and works in Hyderabad, said police.

He had returned to the village on Sunday. “He was forcing the minor girl to go with him to Hyderabad, but she refused. Angered by the refusal, he attacked her,” the official said.
