BHOPAL: After days of beaing the maddening heat, people across the state are about to get a short respite from heat wave due to clouds from Thursday for the next few days. But the relief would be short-lived and mercury will soar again, soon. On Wednesday too, the day temperature in Bhopal remained way above normal mark, said met officials.
Met officials said, there is a cyclonic circulation over east Uttar Pradesh and a trough extending from it till Bihar. There is also a trough line over south Chhattisgarh. These systems are leading to moisture incursion in central and west central MP. Due to it a few places may witness strong winds and lightning including parts of Bhopal and Indore.
Day temperature in Bhopal on Wednesday was recorded at 42.5 degrees Celsius, four degrees more than normal mark, while night temperature was 22.2 degrees Celsius. Wind direction in the city was northwesterly and average wind speed was 12 kilometres per hour. Highest temperature in the state was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius in Rajgarh. Heat wave was witnessed in Naogaon, Chhindwara and Ratlam. In the forecast for Bhopal on Thursday, met officials said, there would be partly cloudy sky; day and night temperature in the city would be at 42 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively, while average wind speed will be 20 kmph.
Met issued a warning of thunder, lightning and high velocity winds for places including Barwani, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Ratlam, Neemuch, Mandsaur and Gwalior districts.
