BHOPAL: Only second dose vaccination of Covishield will be done across the state on Monday. On Saturday, only second dose vaccination of Covaxin was done in the state. On Monday, only Covishield doses will be administered to the people who are eligible for the second dose. Sources said that it is aimed to vaccinate around 5 lakh people on Monday.
State vaccination officer, Dr Santosh Shukla said, “Districts have prepared lists of the eligible people. The lists have been provided to the ground-level workers also and at the same time messages also being sent on phone and other measures are also being taken to motivate people for the second dose of vaccine.”
“From Wednesday onwards, both second and first doses will be administered at the vaccination centres of the state,” he added.
Vaccination drive for people aged above 18 years started in the state on May 5 and the vaccination of 45 plus people had started in the state from March 1, onwards. Thus there are large number of such beneficiaries who are yet to be administered the second dose of Covishield vaccine.
