Madhya Pradesh: No baraat with DJ, groom stages ‘dharna’ at thana in Ratlam

INDORE: High drama unfolded at the Ratlam station road police station on Sunday after a bridegroom forced the cops on duty to arrange a DJ for his marriage procession. In protest, he stayed along with his mate at the police station throughout the night.

Earlier, the cops had disallowed DJ performance at the groom’s marriage procession in headquarters colony, saying that the noise will disturb families of senior police officials residing there.

Soon after the move, the groom rode his horse to the police station and camped there along with his friends till police conceded to his demand. The drama continued for about an hour till around midnight before senior police officials allowed DJ into his procession.

Sub-inspector Mukesh Sastiya of station road police station said, “The bridegroom along with many others camped on the campus at around 10.30 pm on Sunday night demanding permission for DJ in his marriage procession. Earlier, the DJ was disallowed because of curbs after 10 pm. Moreover, there is also covid curfew from 11 pm. The groom and his family members were determined to carry out a marriage ceremony on the police campus if DJ wasn’t allowed in the procession.”

“Senior police officials after around one hour of discussion allowed the DJ but with very low volume music. The procession left the police station campus around midnight after the arrangement of DJ was made”, said SI Sastiya.
