Madhya Pradesh: Masks go missing around schools

BHOPAL: Masks seem to be missing from around the school campuses. From auto drivers to people coming to drop and pick students at the schools were spotted without masks. This is happening when cases are rising in the state.

School teachers said that they can’t force people to wear masks outside the campus. “We did try to ask people like drivers and others to wear masks. However, we are limited to our campus only. In such a situation, we can make it mandatory on the campus only and can’t tell others to follow it,” said a teacher without quoting her name.

Masks were either missing or they were not properly on the faces. Even when they were asked, people reacted very casually. Corona is no longer in the city.

Government has opened everything only after realising that corona is no longer existing in Bhopal. In such a situation I do not find any logic in wearing it any more. Besides, it was suffocating also,” reacted an auto driver, who went to pick children.

Even several family members who reached the campus to drop or pick their children were also seen without masks. “I forgot my mask at home. Usually, I wear it regularly. Today, I could not, I will not repeat it again,” said Jagdeep Sahu, father of a student.

Students were also spotted, who reached the campus without masks and wore it only while entering the campus.
