BHOPAL: Former chief minister and LOP Kamal Nath on Friday said that he was admitted in hospital because he was suffering from pneumonia. “I was in hospital for 11 days because I was suffering from pneumonia. Now I am totally fit and healthy. I will tour the whole state,” he said.
Kamal Nath was admitted in a hospital in Gurugram on June 9 after running fever for two days. He was discharged from hospital but was advised complete rest though he kept meeting people in New Delhi. The state Congress president returned to Bhopal on Thursday and attended the swearing-in of governor Mangu Bhai Patel.
On Friday, Nath also broke his silence on the inclusion of Jyotiraditya Scindia in the Narendra Modi Union cabinet. “This is a decision taken between the BJP and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Let us see how this arrangement runs,” he said. Kamal Nath’s 15-month government in the state fell after 22 MLAs of the Scindia faction including six ministers left Congress and joined BJP in March 2020.
The veteran Congress leader also took a dig at PM Narendra Modi when he was asked about spiraling inflation in the country. “Inflation has crossed all limits. Modiji gives long speeches. Where are his 2013-14 speeches, announcements and slogans? Standup India, Digital India? But he looks good these days having grown his beard,” Kamal Nath said.
