Madhya Pradesh: Girl gangraped by Facebook friend, two others in Gwalior

BHOPAL: A 17-yeart-old girl was allegedly gangraped by her Facebook acquaintance and two others in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district. The incident took place in the old Cantonment police station area.

As per the complaint lodged by the teenager, she was contacted by a Facebook friend named Ramu Kushwaha on November 21 while returning home after completing her tasks at a local bank.

Around 5:30 pm, she received a call from Ramu, inquiring about her whereabouts. Subsequently, she was asked to wait at Motijheel. Ramu arrived in a white Scorpio, accompanied by Sarvind, the nephew of former MLA Ajab Singh, and an individual identified as Chhote Khan. The girl was coerced into the vehicle and taken to a remote area within Motijheel.

She was then subjected to physical assault and gangraped. Despite her protests, the assault continued, leading to the victim losing consciousness. After regaining consciousness, the girl managed to reach the local police station and reported the incident.

Police initiated an investigation, resulting in the arrest of Ramu Kushwaha and Sarvind. However, Chhote Khan remains at large. SP Rajesh Chandel told TOI that the matter is under investigation.

He said a case has been filed against three on the victim's testimony. Efforts are underway to track down and apprehend the third accused, with raids and extensive searches being conducted.

(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
