Madhya Pradesh: Ganja worth Rs 60L seized in Dhar district

DHAR: Manawar police in Dhar district seized a large quantity of ganja plants and arrested four persons who were growing them on their farm on Saturday evening.

Dhar ASP Devendra Patidar told TOI that a source informed the police that a group of farmers were growing ganja on their land at Muhali village and were smuggling it to Indore and other areas.

A team headed by Manawar SHO Brijesh Malviya raided the farm and found the information to be correct. Around 1,255 kilograms of ganja worth Rs60 lakh was recovered and Rajendra, Budhan Singh, Fateh Singh and Nanuram were arrested.

ASP Patidar said that the accused were growing ganja along with the crop of tuar.
