Madhya Pradesh: Four cops hurt in hail of arrows & stones in Burhanpur

INDORE: Four policemen, including a sub-inspector, were badly injured in a bow-and-arrow attack late Sunday night when they went to a village in Burhanpur to arrest a father-son duo for dacoity.

They were attacked when they were on their way back after arresting one of the accused, Gina. He escaped during the skirmish.

Police had gone after Gina and his father Noora as the alleged masterminds of a dacoity a month ago in which they looted homes and vehicles in the area around Morsal village, some 180km south of Indore. In a midnight raid, the cops arrested Gina and two other suspects, and were taking them to their vehicle when Gina’s family members attacked them with bows and arrows and traditional slingshots, said Nepanagar police station in-charge Laxman Singh Lavvanshi.
