Madhya Pradesh: Covishield stock ends in four dists of Indore, Ujjain divisions

INDORE: Four districts of Malwa-Nimar have exhausted their stock of Covishield vaccine on Monday amidst ongoing drive for precaution dose, show records.

Of them, three are in Indore division and one in Ujjain division. In the Indore division, Dhar, Indore, and Khandwa exhausted their Covishield stock, show records from the regional director health services office.

The regional vaccine store is also without any stock of Covishield vaccine, show records. Regional director health services Dr Ashok Dagaria said, “The districts will get new stock by Tuesday to run their mass vaccination drive.”

The state government has scheduled a mega drive on August 3 and directed districts to end their stocks before getting new allotments of Covishield vials.

The vaccine stock record from the regional director’s office showed on Monday morning before the start of drive-in day, Indore, and Dhar were only having 490 and 400 doses of Covishield vaccines. Also, Indore district is left with a very few doses of Covishield after the last mega drive on September 28.

In Ujjain division, Ratlam district has ended up with stocks of Covishield for the last two days. Ujjian division regional director health services Dr Rajani Dabar said, “There are vaccine stocks available in all districts of the division. There might be a case of supply issue at any of the centres but no major issue.”

“The new stocks will be received and delivered to them before mega drive on August 3,” added Dr Dabar.
