BHOPAL: Chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will interact with the beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi Yojana by distributing loans in Balaghat on Sunday. Urban development and housing minister Bhupendra Singh will also virtually participate.
Chouhan’s speech will be broadcast on various social media platforms and regional TV news channels and Doordarshan through a webcast link. Ministers, MPs, MLAs and other public representatives have also been invited to the programme and the urban bodies will also be virtually participating.
Bhupendra Singh informed that against the set target of distributing loans to a total of 4,02,000 urban street vendors in the first phase of the PM SVANidhi Yojana from July 1, 2020 to March 2022, as many as 3,50,000 vendors have already benefitted and MP ranks second in the country.
The minister stated that identity cards have been issued to 6,72,000 urban street vendors across the state.
“In the first phase of the scheme, till March 12, 2021, loans worth Rs300 crore were disbursed to 3 lakh vendors at the rate of Rs10,000 per beneficiary. After this, till now 50,000 new urban street vendors have been disbursed loans worth Rs50 crore at the rate of Rs10,000”, Bhupendra Singh added.
Around Rs11 lakh as cashback has been received so far by the street vendors who are buying and selling through digital transactions. To encourage digital payments, street vendors get a cashback of Rs100 per month.
The second phase of PM SVANidhi Yojana started from August 18. Under the scheme, urban street vendors in the first phase, who have fully repaid the loan of Rs10,000, are eligible for a loan of Rs20,000.
As many as 600 street vendors have already received the Rs20,000 loan, while loans have been disbursed to only 1,200 beneficiaries across the country.
MP ranks first in the country in the implementation of the second phase of the PM SVANidhi Yojana.
