Madhya Pradesh: Child among 4 dead in Raisen as truck rams car

BHOPAL: Four persons, including a mother and child, were killed when their car was hit head-on by a speeding truck in Raisen district early Wednesday morning. The collision was so fierce that one of the victims was decapitated. Police named those killed as five-year-old Nityansh alias Honey, his mother Anita Bai, 45, a relative Sadhna, 55, and driver Manohar, 40. Four others suffered severe injuries and are admitted to hospital.

The family was headed for the last rites of a relative in Salkanpur of Sehore district, around 80km from the accident site. They had barely left their home in Kishanpur village when a truck rammed them on the highway around 5am. The driver of the truck jumped out and escaped, said police. The car was wrecked in the collision. The head of one of the women was found several metres away, said police. The truck has been seized and a case registered at Devnagar police station.
