Madhya Pradesh: Adopt zero tolerance towards violence, says CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan

BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Thursday that any kind of communal tension and violence will not be tolerated in the state. The police should remain in constant touch with the general public through peace committees, while activating and strengthening their intelligence system. Meetings of peace committees should be organised at the police station and district level as well as at the mohalla level. He said, a campaign will soon be launched to identify illegal migrants from other countries in the state.

Chouhan directed officials to take special precautions and keep an eye on social media for upcoming festivals including Holi and said that misleading information coming on social media should be refuted immediately. CM was holding a meeting with senior officers at his residence office regarding the law and order situation in the state.

Chief secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, additional chief secretary home Dr Rajesh Rajoura, director general of police Sudhir Saxena and other senior officers were present in the meeting.

CM said a system where everyone feels safe, is necessary. Maintaining law and order is the top priority of the state government. Prompt action has been taken in the crimes against women and children in the state. The state has to be made a model state on law and order front.

Chouhan said that effective action should be continued in all the districts to control the mafia, anti-social elements, dacoits and naxalites. He received detailed information regarding four suspected terrorists caught from Aishbagh area of Bhopal. He said, before keeping the tenants, landlords must get their credentials checked.
