BHOPAL: A father-son duo allegedly raped a 27-year-old married woman and then along with their relative conspired and sold her for Rs 60000 to a Vidisha man for marriage. Ratibad police got a tip off and they raided the spot, but the accused managed to flee.
SHO Ratibad Sudhesh Tiwari said that the 27-year-old woman’s husband was sent to jail in a criminal case a few months back. The woman was searching for a job. Around four months back, she met accused Ravi in Chhola area. He lured her into his trap on the pretext of helping her getting a job. She was kept in a rented room where Ravi and his father Ramesh allegedly raped her. Later, the father-son duo along with their relative Lokesh sold her to Sarman Prajapati, 33, from Sironj in Vidisha district for marriage. . SHO Tiwari said that during the engagement ceremony, Sarman gave Rs 6000 to the woman which the trio accused took. The marriage was fixed for July 12 for which Sarman came to Bhopal at a marriage bureau in Ratibad along with his relatives. The bureau officials got suspicious and informed the police. When the cops reached the spot and inquired about it from the woman who narrated her ordeal. Meanwhile, the accused fled the spot. Acting on the woman’s complaint police registered a Zero FIR on charges of rape and transferred the case to Chhola police station while a case on charges of fraud was registered on Sarman’s complaint.
