Made4U doubles up its efforts for annual Christmas Toy Drive

A charity in Wishaw has doubled up on its efforts to ensure hard pressed families with children can have a happy Christmas.

Made4U are working in partnership with Pathway Church to bring joy and Christmas cheer to children across the area with their annual toy drive.

This year there are two drop-off points for gift donations which will go to families struggling to make ends meet.

Amber Smith from Made4U told us: “We are asking the community to rally around and help those in need this Christmas and donate toys and gifts.

"New gifts are preferable but you can also donate gifts that are somewhat new and in good condition.

“We have also created an Amazon wishlist; should anyone want access to it. They should get in touch with us, or it can be found on our social media channels.”

The project is accessed by referral, to help Made4U ensure that the gifts that are being donated are going to those who will benefit most.

Amber continued: “If there are families in need of assistance with gifts they are more than welcome to get in touch with ourselves or Pathway and we will help them access a referral.”

The drive has been buoyed by a large donation of toys from bank staff at a branch in the town's Main Street who have been busy donating themselves and collecting from customers.

“Thank you so much to all the staff at RBS for all their amazing Christmas Toy donations,” added Amber. “We are so amazed by all their hard work.”

The charity and church are also looking for volunteers to help get involved in packing and distributing the toys and gifts to families in need.

You can drop donations at the Made4U centre in Greenfield Drive, Cambusnethan, Wishaw, ML2 8NT, or at Pathway Church Hub, Unit 3, 14 King Street, ML2 8BS.

For more information on how to access the service or to offer your help as a volunteer you can call Made4U on 01698 598110 or Pathway on 07368 873633.
