The Manchester band most likely to make you throw some serious shapes. Formed just over a year ago, local four-piece Porij have developed a reputation as a formidable live act, their exuberant, high-energy anthems always guaranteed to incite a dancefloor riot. Ambitious and expansive, there's a lot going on in their music – elements of electronic, R&B, jazz, garage, house – but it’s always delivered with tremendous verve and panache. Debut single I Like That – a gorgeous slice of funky, experimental jazz, like New Order jamming with GoGo Penguin – received glowing reviews and saw them tipped as one to watch by Radio 1 tastemaker Huw Stephens.
