Made in Manchester - Café Spice

WHO ARE THEY?

Manc music's finest exponents of sweet vocal harmonising. Comprising a trio of vocalists from England, Scotland and Ireland – Georgia Gage, Niamh Feeney and Eleanor Lang – Manchester-based Café Spice have been leaving audiences spellbound with their flawless three-part harmonies over the past 12 months.

Most crucially, though, they've also got the songwriting chops to compliment that vocal virtuosity. Beautiful, bucolic and dripping with melody, the trio's sound has one foot planted in 1960s California folk-rock a la Mamas and the Papas, and the other one rooted in the English folk traditions of Sandy Denny.

The end result – once combined with those superbly crystalline singing voices – is a bracing, accessible sound that should appeal as much to pop fans as it does to folk music connoisseurs. The time has come to (café) spice up your life.
