Made in Chelsea star Sophie Hermann shares bitter regrets over failed fashion line

Sophie Hermann has opened up about the hard lessons she learned after her fashion label flopped.

The Made In Chelsea star, 34, was left devastated when her fashion dreams crumbled in front of her eyes during her early 20’s after she launched her first clothing range.

Despite the huge setback, Sophie learned a number of valuable life lessons after her dreams failed to take off.

Now, almost a decade after her business failed, the reality TV star is on a mission to help the sustainable fashion industry.

Sophie is selling the entire collection of clothes which were designed way back from 2012 to 2014.

After her company went into liquidation, Sophie was left shattered.

And after setting up the company with her boyfriend at the time, the Made In Chelsea star was forced to call it quits on her relationship after it all got too much amid the breakdown of her business.

“If you have a dream, you try to make it come true. But my dream was shattered. It all ended very dramatically and terribly with me liquidating the company,” the reality TV star told Mail Online.

“Basically, don't start a business in your early 20s with your boyfriend - especially if said boyfriend is younger than you. The whole thing made me end a toxic relationship and rethink life.”

While it seemed like her world had completely crumbled at the time, a few short weeks later, Sophie got the call to confirm that she would be the next famous face on Made In Chelsea.

If her business hadn’t failed, Sophie may not have taken the leap in reality TV and she wouldn’t be the star she is today if her clothing collection had worked out as she hoped.

Sophie explained: “I joined Made In Chelsea because of the collection. I thought coming onto the show would be the perfect platform to advertise my designs. However, I didn't take into consideration who was watching the show.

“MIC helped me create a platform for myself and turn myself into a brand where now other brands pay me to design for them which is a lot of fun as well. And I am very grateful. It's like one door closes and another opens. That's the silver lining.”

The star hasn’t given up on her fashion dreams just yet though.

In the future, Sophie hopes to try her hand at launching a label again.
