Made in Chelsea star Julius Cowdrey auditions for The Voice after 'heartbreak'

Made in Chelsea star Julius Cowdrey is hoping to kickstart his music career by auditioning for The Voice this evening.

The 27-year-old, who appeared in the E4 reality TV series until 2017, is hoping to impress coaches Will.i.am, Olly Murs, Tom Jones and Meghan Trainor enough to turn around.

In a clip from this evening's episode, Meghan seems instantly charmed by his voice as she hails it "beautiful".

Will she turn around?

This comes just a year after Julius said that his struggle to make it in the music industry had left him "disheartened".

Julius quit Made in Chelsea just 12 months after joining to pursue a career as a professional singer-songwriter.

Speaking to the MailOnline after releasing two singles last year, he said: "I have been heartbroken not just by the music industry but also by the girl I thought was the love of my life.

"But I am proud to say I have come out on the other side a stronger and more mature individual."

Explaining that he got cheated on, he added: "I lived trusting her every action and without my knowing I became victim to huge disloyalty."

While he did not name any names, he seemed to have been referring to Ella Willis, who had been his longterm girlfriend on the show.

Further opening up about his singles, he said: "Both singles narrate a difficult time in my life, and they express the feelings of being let down by the ones I loved and trusted the most.

"Sonically the songs contradict the theme of the music, turning into positive and uplifting anthems."

*The Voice airs tonight at 8.30pm on ITV
